Is it normal that a daughter is afraid of their mother?

Some one I know is afraid of their mother because her mom gets really angry and just start beating in her. STUPID. Right?

    No it isn't stupid. It's called ABUSE. Your friend needs help. Instead of coming on here and judging her, how about helping her instead!

    well its not stupid to be afraid of her mom because in the first place she needs to talk to someone if shes getting beat

    That's not stupid. You shouldn't be afraid of your mother in that way. When a parent beats the child for no reason that's abuse. A child should feel comfortable enough to hug and kiss their mother and tell them they love them but they should also have a healthy fear. If she's always ducking and dodging or afraid to make certain movements around her mother, there is something wrong with that. How is it Irony?
