Like as a joke but it's kind of wierd and now that I think about it, I would never say something like that even jokingly... Anyways stopped talking to this person just for saying stupid crap...

    Your first sentence says it all. "like as a joke but now that i think about it........". Don't read too much into it. The dude was tryin to be funny and missed. I hate when unneccessary drama occurs because someone can't take a joke.

    He probably said it as a joke but that definitely crosses the line.

    If I were you I'd confront him about it and tell him that it was extremely inappropriate. Be direct and don't get off topic. If it still isn't resolved go to your HR.

    you know more than we do if it's just in jest.

    i mean i've had coworkers i could joke like that with.

    now if you think he was serious .... then you go to HR. but if you know he was just joking around leave it be. (or if it bothers you just ask him to stop)
