Absolutely. This is an argument I have with my group of musician friends constantly. "Sad music" aka minor chords can trigger sentiment or ethereal and beautiful appreciation. There are no absolutes in art. It is how you see it it. You interpret what you hear whowever you like. Fuck what everyone else says. At the end of the day, whatever you hear when you listen to music belongs to you alone.
