My point was not how smart they are. My point is these kind of creatures are very difficult to kill. I am saying if you think about it this is very inefficient. Yet humans eat them. As well as that it makes the death more agonizing for the creature yes. Generally people will leave things alone that are hard to kill. Compared to a snail which you can pull out the snail. You can not do this type of thing with a lobster. Since most of the lobsters body is covered with a hard shell.
Is it normal people would eat such an animal?

But we can kill them and they are considered to be tasty by some people which I cannot judge since I never tried one...
