Is it normal not to tell people that i want to be a cop?

I am in my second semester of college. I am working on my bachelors in Criminal Justice. Is it normal not to tell friends that I want to become a cop? I know there are many other options in this field of study so I always say I'm not sure when asked what I am going to do with this degree.

Never be ashamed to do something that is a respectful and honest working profession. I say good for you and go for it. Go kick some dirtbag ass. Be proud!

Yuminsanity sounds like a guy who thinks he knows everything about the police because he is usually sitting in the back seat... Probably because he doesn't know when to shut his mouth...what an idiot.

I don't blame you for not wanting to tell them. There is so much hatred towards police officers now. But, eventually, there will come a time when they'll find out.

Yes its normal. But its ok to tell someone. If you tell people then maybe they will be helpful towrads you and support you 100% while you are a cop. By the way, by posting this onto this site, you're basically telling people that you want to be a cop. Just saying.

I'm not a cop, but I have quite a few friends who are. They are not married to other cops and they definetly are not imbreed. That's very stero-typical of you.

You should proud to want to go into this line of work. It's a very important job that people like me honestly don't have the guts to do. Don't be ashamed about it!

Maybe you're not sure yourself or you don't know if you can meet a requirement. Ask for some help at the college's guidance or careers office.

Why are you afraid to tell them?

your afraid to say it because you know your friends will hate you for it. cops are only friends with other cops because nobody trusts them. they only marry other cops too, which is why theres so much inbreeding and same sex marriages in the police force
