Well, yes retirement is imminent, but until then you can make a career happen. You might not be able to pursue the career of your dreams at 70, but there might be an alternative career that could be just as satisfying.
That's pretty much what I've always thought. There are people still going back to school at the age of 60 for their 10th degree, there are people selling everything after some random impulse and just travel the world on a ship.. go figure. But we're still social creatures and I can't help sometimes compairing my way of life to other people's choices.

Ya, I turned down a career for an exciting life too.
It's never too late to make a career happen though.
