Is it normal not to be convinced of your own judgment?

I think that I cannot know what is real and what is not. I see things, hear things and feel things that are de facto not normal. I should not be able to judge what is real and what is not. So I think maybe what I think is not real could be as real as unreal.

    Are you experiencing hallucinations?

    • At least that's what they (psychiatrists and the like) call it, yes.

I feel not convinced of my own judgment at times as in questioning whether or not I made the right choice about something, or whether or not I interpreted something in the correct way.

However, I think you are likely reading too much into things. What do you think is abnormal about what you see and hear? Is someone telling you the things you see and hear are not normal or don't exist? If so, there is a possibility you could be getting gaslighted, which is a very real and unfortunately common thing with manipulative and emotionally abusive people.

Or, if you suspect you have hallucinations or symptoms of something like OCD, you could just require getting a diagnosis and receiving treatment. It may take a bit to figure out what works best for you, but you may feel much better.

It could be a possibility as well that you are overthinking/overreacting to maybe misjudging or misremembering a few things. I think everyone can see or hear things that aren't there or that other people don't notice every once in awhile, or recall things happening differently than they really did (for example, look up the Mandela Effect). Everyone has experienced some weird and abnormal things in their lives.

If it greatly bothers you this much, it wouldn't hurt to seek out a professional opinion or two.

That's no way to live. That's mental paralysis. Or psychosis...

    • Doctors in fact believe I'm ill too. They gave me prescriptions for antipsychotics that made me have okulogyric crisis (cramps that start at the eyes then infest your face then your neck and back and so on) a lot so I stopped taking them.

Pretty normal I think. I question my senses all the time and I don't even experience hallucinations, I just suspect reality itself is an asshole waiting to pull the rug out from under me

uhh, do you mean hallucinations? because thats not really normal. however, if you mean reality in your judgement then yeah, thats normal and possible sign of OCD (don't take my word for it, go get it checked out if its severe). I have a hard time distinguishing between my real thoughts and passive/intrusive thoughts, which can make things stressful.
