Guess what? Chinese kids generally like Chinese food! It's not like there's something inherent to Chinese food that means it offends childish palates.
If your kids grew up with Chinese food around, smelling it and tasting it - as I assume they did, since you like it - then it's hardly surprising.
Our 9 year-old loves olives, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, sharp cheese, pesto, asparagus, dark chocolate, oatmeal and runny eggs - all things that many kids don't appreciate. Maybe it's because she's never been given "kid food", but expected to eat what her parents do.
