I too am a male, and I grew up with similar situation, I had normal friends in school, but I usually felt like outcast. Others had the nice cars, the newest clothes, and all I had was a few good friends. But yes, society puts so much pressure to be do and associate with only "hoity-toitys" kind of like people walking around with silver spoons up their ass. Another problem - some people think way to highly of themselves.
