    Physical assault is NOT the same thing as words .....

    We don't know that it wasn't the 500th time he'd adversely compared her cooking to his mother's and we don't know that his mother isn't a whore either, but irrelevant anyway.

    She apparently can't control her mouth but it's far more serious that he can't control his anger

      I don't care, if anyone calls my mom a whore I'm slapping them too.

      She can control her mouth she probably just thought she can mouth off and nothing would ever happen... hitting is bad but you cant go around saying whatever the hell you want and expect no reaction either.

        The relevant thing is that he says it "just happened". Assault doesn't "just happen" and THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR IT.

        I've worked in the family violence field for decades and that's a common bullshit excuse by violent men: "It just happened" (minimisation) usually coupled with "she provoked me" (blaming the victim) followed by other men approving their violence, as has been seen here, followed by escalation.

        Same old, same old .....
