She probably wasn't implying anything serious, just pointing out a quirk that you have. But frankly it seems more logical to draw someone from the bottom up, then you can properly position them on the ground! Often when I draw people I draw the head too low or high and have to start again, lest my person should be too tall or short. Smart kid, you were!
