Is it normal my sister acts like a third parent?

I have two great parents that do care about me. But my sister acts like a third parent.

She doesn't let me swear in her presence, ever. She knows that I swear when I'm around friends and I know she swears around hers. I don't swear like a sailor but can't even let out a little word around her. She also gets disappointed in me. Which is ridiculous. Once she coaxed me to admit that I had a drink, I'm underage but I wasn't drunk. When she found out i pulled an all nighter or two in college she was disappointed in my time management.

She's only 2 years older than me. It's not like she supported me or kissed my booboos growing up she just gets disappointed in me and tells me what to do with my life. She normal?

  • I was like this with my younger brother. We just want you to be safe!

  • Maybe she just doesn't want you to do the same mistakes she has done?

Well maybe you should behave. She is trying to take care of you. Why don't you listen to her. If my little brother was drinking underage he would damn well hear about it. Maybe you should learn to grow up and stop getting in trouble. Not blaming your older sibling since you enjoy causing it. Learn to grow up please. This site is for adults not children.

yes. i know from my own experiences that sisters care so much about their siblings that they would do anything to make them a better person. i am the same way with my cousin.

My sis whos 2 years olr does the same exact thing! She criticizes how I eat and talk And every time my mom tells me to do something, my sister has to repeat it to me so she can feel like she's in charge of me. So dumbbbb

    Normal. Annoying, but normal.

she sounds either like a control freak or over-protective. I know I wouldn't like it, either.

  • She loves you. One day you'll see, and one day you'll wish they would've locked you up more. I'm 19 and I feel that.
