Is it normal my nose pierce smells funny

I got my nose pierced 3 yrs. ago. I take it out a lot for soccer. But I have noticed that if I leave it out for too long and put it back in, I can smell something weird from the piercing. Idk if it's because the hole started to close and I punctured it again or something like that. But IIN? does anyone have this problem?

    Use salt water to clean the whole.

    My ear rings do that. Take it out more and cleaning it seems to help with me. It's really gross weird smell lol

    i have never had that happen but i know ppl who have their ears stretched and they say it smells. i guess a hole is a hole

    I have and had alot of piercings. You have to clean them daily or some will smell funny!!! Especially when ppl get their ears stretched. It's dead skin and dirt and stuff turning funky in the hole. It has no where to go unless you clean it. So CLEAN YOUR PIERCINGS!!!! Ppl who don't are dirty!!!

    That usually means it's infected. Go get some saltwater spray for piercings and start cleaning it a lot.

    Yeah I had the same thing, but I didn't need to take the piercing out to smell it. So yuk. wearing a ring helps a lot, because the piercing moves, also what material the piercing is made out of makes a difference.
