Some people just refuse to believe their loved ones have anything wrong with them and will just keep on denying it. It's unfortunately normal and it prevents people who need help from getting help.
it's fucked up though because she also has autism so she should know what i'm going through. it's like she's jealous or something and she's the only one allowed to have autism lmao
Does she accept her diagnosis, or is she in denial about that too? She probably wants to believe that you are perfect, because you are her child. I think can be counterproductive. Maybe she thinks you will do better if you think there's nothing wrong with you? I think this is neglectful though.
I have had depression and anxiety for a most of my life, and I'm pretty sure my mother, and her family have preferred to just think I'm lazy. It's shitty, I know. Denying the existence of something doesn't make it go away.
she accepts it but she hardly ever talks about it. I have other problems wrong with me too though and she accepts them all except my autism diagnosis. and yeah my mum is like that too, if I can't do something she thinks i'm lazy or if i'm in a deep thought and she says something and I ask her to repeat herself she's like you're only pretending not to listen to me because you don't want to
IIN my mum refuses to believe I have autism?
