  • I was given a hundred dollar check for my birthday when I was younger. My dad cashed the check in, took the money, then spent it on himself. Was I mad? Fuck yes. You only lost a few bucks. I'm sure other people have been swindled for more by their own parents.
Just deal with it and give her exact change next time.

    • If I were OP, I wouldn't let either of my parents near any money of mine: what a nasty pair they are!

      • I don't know enough about the situation. I don't know if it's the OP's own money that they worked for, or money they got from an allowance.

However, what do parents (usually) pay for when they have a child? Food, clothes, school supplies, a home, etc.
Sometimes, some people just need to stop bitching since most parents spend shitloads of money on the family in some form or another.

        • That doesn't give them the right to rip of their kids for money! That's what they take on when they have kids, they shouldn't expect to get any of it back

        • It's money I got from doing surveys since I had already given her $400 of my check to pay lending tree. Surveys are hard to make money on. An example is 20 min for 35 cents, a lucky 10 min for maybe $2.47, oops they disqualified you for not fitting the target audience or working the right job. Also @Keepsake, when I was 11 or 12 my mom took a $100 bill out of her purse, asked "Want this?" and when I nodded yes she put it back. And my cousin a while ago took $60 out of my purse which later was spent and her mom did nothing. Last I heard she had a baby lol.

          • Why don't you just move out. You have your own money, so get a friend as a roommate and cut ties with the family. You're not going to win here since there's nothing you can do to change people.

            • I'm trying. It's the game of real estate and people keep getting the house for rent first. Most of my friends are either with their own roommates or out of state. One friend in particular plays those dance games on their top floor and I don't want to die if someone gets mad at them.
