New believers tend to do this. That does not classify them as " Holy Rollers" that is something entirely different. When an individual is motivated by their emotion they believe within themselves to the core they are doing right. Not realizing they are doing damage to themselves and those around them. I suggest you look into the denomination.of church your mother attends. This will also give you further insight on why she is doing these things. Also remember this, your mothers house your mothers rules. Untill you move out you must obey her house rules.
my mom is NOT a new believer. she has been christian all her life but she recently started attending church more regularly and its like she's become completely obssessed with it now. she feels that almost everything is full of sin or something. things she had no problem with before she now hates with a passion. plus i grew up believing so i'm not new to this either. i know all about church and our denomination even though i'm no longer a part of it. i realize these are her rules but sometimes they're so crushing it causes so much stress on me. i know i'll just have to stick in there until i move out.
I understand where your mother is coming from now. She is focussing primarily on 5 key scriptures. Im sure you are familiar with them. By your mother doing this she is refurring to them constantly. Ive know many people like this. This will either mellow out or your Mother will hold true to them. For your Mother it is a great blessing you must understand this. She is focusing on her faith in God. Im not defended her but I know why she is doing it. Being you were raised in church and if you read the scriptures you know why she is doing this. All I can say is forget patients go for longsuffering. Always respect her even though she goes off at times. Yes honor thy mother and father but also we christians have a saying " so heavenly minded no earthly good" Good luck and I will pray for your situation.
IIN my mom has suddenly turned into a holy roller
