Is it normal my hand suddenly started hurting?

My left hand suddenly started hurting seemingly out of nowhere, it's the wrist area that hurts. I feel intense pain when trying to move it, but only light pain if I'm keeping it still. I cant figure out a way I could have injured myself and its the right hand I used the most. The rest of my body feel normal. Has anyone else had this?

There are several different physical causes behind pain like that. You really need to see a Doctor. Specifically an "OD" in the USA as they specialize on the muscular skeleton system and are experts at muscle and joint pain.

I wish you a relatively speedy recovery. That will likely be at least several months.

    • Thanks. I've already been to the doctor today, coincidentally had an appointment for an unrelated issue. The problem with my arm actually went away in a few hours and my doctor told me it was nothing to worry about when I asked (no testing was done related to it)

It sounds like beginning CTS. Do you watch tv with your your wrist behind your head? That causes compression of the carpal nerve.

Yeah ive had that. I was told by a nurse that I had carpal tunnel syndrome but no official diagnosis. Could also be some kind of inflammation possibly from overuse.
