Me and my girlfriend have been dating for about a year, and she is like super scared that i will think her vagina is weird looking. We haven't had sex yet but she gives me blowjobs on a pretty regular basis, and i finger her a lot but she refuses to let me go down on her. When i ask her why she says she doesn't want me to see it. And on more than once while i was fingering her i looked down at her vagina, just not even really thinking about it, and she gets furious with me. Not to mention from what i see it looks like a pretty descent vagina so i have no idea what shes worried about. I just want her to feel more comfortable around me so we can become closer like emotionally but i was just wondering, are other girls like this? Like do they think their vagina's are ugly, or is it just her?

    Listen, we're not men. Our genitals aren't out in the open for us to see every time we take our pants down. Our genitals are bit more hidden away. When we do look at our vaginas we'd have to get out a mirror just to see it. I get that if you're young you'd be nervous about showing an intimate part of yourself to someone when you might not be so familiar with it yourself. That's how I was like with my first boyfriend.

    Just ask your girl why she's so self conscious. Make sure she gives you a real answer. After she answers tell her that there's nothing wrong with her body is 100% normal.

        Yes, with my first "real" boyfriend or first intimate relationship I was very self conscious about my nethers. Let's just say the first time he went down on me I apologized.

        I did get over it eventually. Talking to my friends, other girls, about it made me feel normal.

      Vaginas in most porn don't have as much variety as real vaginas, though. Some women actually cite porn as the source of their insecurities about their vaginas.

        There is porn with "real" couples going at it that he could use to compare with. Most of the women in those pornos don't bleach and some don't even trim, it looks very realistic.

        Unless a girl is into amateur specifically, she'll see all the same stuff all the time...much like penis size would be pretty misleading looking only at professional porn.
        It's weird, really, both gals and guys get insecurity issues from them, but still it's the "mainstream" thing to cater to some unrealistic ideals...

    They're weird. Really really weird. I don't think anything else in the world is similar. And most girls don't get to see alot of pussy (I know I haven't).
    So most girls are gonna be self conscious to an extent. I am. Obviously, if your girl is self conscious, she thinks there is a reason to be. It doesn't matter if you think theres a reason. So don't fixate on her lady garden. Just make the poor girl happy, and she'll relax I'm sure.

        If you look at one as just the physical, with out the "hey, I get to put my dick in that" mentality, it's a really weird contraption. I've never seen anything like it. It's just weird. And not very pretty. I'm self conscious as hell.

    From experience, past girlfriends have often worried about this (with one exception who thought she had a work of art between her legs). It can be difficult to accept that men and women really do view things differently and that we're so turned on by what women have that we don't even notice all the flaws they imagine they have.

    To prove the point, I've seen my fair share of them. They've been all different colours, different shapes, differently coiffed. The only thing they had in common was that I was very attracted to every single one of them.

        I could be cheesy and say that all women have a work of art between their legs but I'm going to be frank instead. Some guy had said she had the neatest one in the world (how would he know?) and I think it went to her head. It was fairly "tucked in" and I guess it was like something out a porn film but it wouldn't have gone for £7m at Sotheby's or anything.
