You can't let someone guilt you into a relationship by playing on your sympathy. It's incredibly manipulative, but sometimes it happens merely because you're a good person and you feel bad.
She's basically holding you hostage, and this is a form of abuse.
When you try to leave, she will most likely attempt to emotionally manipulate you by saying she's going to hurt herself...kill herself, etc etc...she probably won't, but refer her to psychiatrists, suicide hotlines, and inform her family members if you have their contact info. You should never feel obligated to stay with someone just because you feel guilty; you wouldn't be doing her or yourself any favors.
Just do what you can to help her out, and bail as soon as possible. She is unstable, and there is no way she'd be able to maintain a healthy relationship.
Is it normal my girlfriend is really messed up?
