He's probably trying to do it to get you to lose weight because he likes you.
I'm going to be blunt, as you probably know by now, life is unfair, you will not magically "find the right guy" who will treat you like a princess, whatever you look like, and if you lose weight you will attract a higher caliber of guys.
Don't buy into the bullshit that "he should love you no matter what you look like", or "you are beautiful however much you weigh". You have two choices, stay fat and catch worse fish, or lose some weight and get a better partner. He probs does like you though, and he probs will continue to encourage you to lose weight so long as he likes you.
