Is it normal my family won't accept I don't believe in Christianity?

  • I have the same problem. They are all convinced, but it all seems very illogical and unlikely to me. There are so many religions; why do they think theirs is right? It all sounds like brainwashing to me. The Catholics are supposed to do many things the Bible expressly says is wrong, like chanting, elevating Mary to something above a common woman who was just a vessel, making more and more rules, just like the Jews did, and so many things. I was raised Lutheran, and they also chant, but in English. It put me to sleep ... literally. The Bible is intentionally confusing. If God wants us to know him, I really don't think he would be so confusing and tricky. He'd just tell it plainly so we could all know ... not guess right and pass this all-important test.
