It's not a father son bonding thing. He thinks there are things girls should do, like cooking and making a home, and things that only boys should do, like fishing and fixing cars. I have asked him to take me separate from my brother and he refuses. He says the fish in the lake are not for me, they are only for the men.
Your Father is ~dead~ wrong! Of course you're already aware of this, and that's great because that means you're not being brainwashed into believing his way of thinking is right. I hope he doesn't pass his ignorance onto your brother. Sorry, but it seems that the only way you'll learn is if you find out how to on your own or with the help of teacher or Google. (if you brother won't teach you, that is).
I agree with you on this one. I think she needs to ask her brother if he believes that it's only men who can fish. I would hope the answer would be "no". Then of course find someone who will teach you to fish because it is quite relaxing.
IIN my dad won't let me because I'm a girl?

I by far disagree with your father. My question is does your grandfather (your dads, dad) think the same thing?
Anyone can fish. I use to go fishing quite a bit when I was little and I'm a woman.

What I really hope is that her Dad comes to his senses.
