Me and my friends make racist jokes all the time, including our own race. Not because we're racist because we like to make fun of the stupid stereotypes people invent. Maybe your dad is similar? But, I do know people who are really sensitive about race, and it's not problem for me to hold my tongue. Maybe you should ask your dad to do the same. It doesn't necessarily mean he's an asshole.
