I actually dated my second cousin. We were never introduced as cousins and we met at school when we were about 10 or so. We learned that we were cousins when we were around 13. We grew an attraction for eachother as we enjoyed the same stuff. He is 19 now and I am 16. We dated for a year and a half until he moved away. We did have a sexual relationship, and we still love eachother very much. Our families never looked down upon us, but we all make a joke of it that we are cousins. If I could, I would drop everything, run away and be with him. When he does come home, we are always together. Not everyone accepts it, but it's something you learn to live with.
If you love eachother, go for it. If you are unsure about it, still go for it. No one is going to get hurt. But you just have to be careful because you don't want to end up hating eachother if you are in a relationship because in the end you still have to see eachother at some point on your life. Hope this helps :)
Of course it helps! Best so far! Thanks so much for sharing your story! :D It's amazing how you guys made it work despite all the things that could have prevented you from being together or made the situation even more difficult; the age difference, the fact that he lives far away and that you're somehow related...
It does scare me sometimes, the fact that I know I'm going to have to continue to see him throughout my life even if something goes wrong.. but then again you'll spend the rest of your life wondering about what could have been which in my opinion is worse than giving it a chance.
Is it normal my cousin and I like eachother?
