It's not like if you make a decision than you can't go back! It's hair. It will grow, and you can shape it to however you or he wants. Just make sure you're doing it because YOU want to.
But there is nothing wrong with experimenting with your partner. My lover wants me to grow it out as well! So I'm doing so to discover if it's right for me.
