Tricky, mainly due to you two having a child together.
If it was your house, and a child wasn't involved, and you really wanted the dog, you should get to choose, and if he doesn't like it, you would have every right to kick him out for not letting you choose what you want in your house.
But then again, he isn't saying "You ar enot getting the dog", he is saying he will leave if you get the dog, which is his right to if he is living in a condition that involves something he doesn't like.
Although, he would leave his child because he doesn't want a dog? That is terrible, unless it isn't his child.
My opinion would be to try find a home the dog could go to, other family members or something. You need to remember that the child needs a father.
Tricky situation but there will be a negative in it, you just have to choose choose the least negative.
Is it normal my boyfriend threatens to leave
