I basically just heard: is it normal some people are nice and affectionate? Yes, it is.
You should feel lucky and blessed. Most people have a very hard time trying to get along with their significant other's family and loved ones, if you haven't noticed. Many people struggle with jealousy, envy, and all sorts of negative feelings. Don't take that for granted, enjoy it. :)
