Is it normal my boyfriend keeps accusing me of being anorexic?

  • Females require much less food than males because they only have a fraction of the muscle mass.

If your boyfriend wants to go out to eat, why not go with him, but instead have something light from the menu or even just a beverage. It's wrong for him to call you anorexic, but maybe he's annoyed you aren't being open to spending time with him eating at restaurants, which is a normal social thing to do with a boyfriend.

    • I have extreme SAD, and I don't like for people to see me eating or hear me speak if I don't know them well. I did once and it was a bad experience. The crowd made my heart thump and eating? I barely had any and the little I did have, I had to cover my mouth because it just feels so uncomfortable and humiliating.

      • What is "SAD"?

I'm sorry you have so much trouble eating in public. Have you told your boyfriend about your issues? What does he think about it? Why is he accusing you of being anorexic if he knows the cause is something entirely different?

        • Social Anxiety Disorder. I have not yet told him how the eating makes me feel. All he knows is I don't talk in public and when we met, I didn't speak to him. I keep the eating part to myself because I don't want to be too abnormal for him to tolerate.
