You haven't given us a single reason to see why you are still with this guy, so do yourself a favor and go through pros and cons of being with him. Obviously this is a huge problem, but I don't know about the good times you two have had, what you see in him, what you have in common, your plans for the future, etc. You did mention you've been good friends for a while. Now I know this kind of lazy behavior can happen to anyone, and if he doesn't listen to you, at some point if he doesn't, then yes he has to leave. I personally think it was a mistake to let him move in - he needs to be responsible for himself because he doesn't seem to have proven he can do that yet, so I'm not surprised he doesn't seem to be providing for you either. I think it's probably stress that's keeping him down, so if you're intent on staying with this guy, I suggest you encourage him optimistically to improve himself and help him too. Maybe make him some healthy meals and make the bed, and try to look positive. This relationship needs a LOT of fixing, but I think the only way that will happen will involve a good deal of patience. Good luck.
