OP's Catholic guy is clearly a lying hypocrite, but there are many Christian women like me who are really trying to save themselves for a future marriage in conscience because we want to.
If Jesus means nothing to you and you don't believe in him, it costs you nothing to refrain from calling him stupid names and making fun of him, whereas to me and people like me, it feels like hearing a member of my family being insulted.
Of course I'm not going to turn around and insult your family back; that would be pointless. But can you understand that being expected to just take this is the kind of thing that stokes up resentment between groups of people? I think everyone can agree - religious or not - that we all need more peace.
