I hate to say this, but it's partly your fault for staying with him. How did you even end up with this loser in the first place? Probably out of pity, I'm guessing. Has anyone ever told you, your kindness will be the death of you? Sometimes you have to look out for yourself instead of giving so much to everyone else!! So I think he's doomed and you should cut him loose.
If not, you've got a big job ahead of you getting him to stop being so selfish and get some perspex. You might have to take drastic measures and cheat on him. Just make sure it's with someone who looks after you better - that way, if he doesn't come to his senses and do what it takes to win you back, then you've got a plan b) guy who will hopefully be more respectful and caring and generous, and have better taste in cars etc.

You are really smart. I am too easy on him, I should have kicked him to the curb the first time he said no to me but you're right, I am just too nice. I never should have allowed him to think I would put up with any of this. I do see where my fault is in the situation. It might just be time to trade up.
Aw thanks, nobody ever says that to me. That's what I think anyway, "trade up" - exactly. Seems like a win-win. Either your current guy gets the rude awakening he needs to start treating you right (not to mention treating himself right, sounds like he needs some self respect -'15 corolla?? amirite?) Or also you end up with a better a deal on your trade-in.
