Is it normal my animal sits in the corner when they think i am upset?

Sometimes I try and stop my animal since they are doing something dangerous or attacking furniture/walls. Even if I am not upset and I am trying to stop them from doing something they will go sit in the corner.

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Your animal loves you so much they would probably do anything for you

  • I think it's fairly normal especially if they have been abused in the past. I'm not trying to accuse you of anything. The previous family my dog belonged to was not very kind to him. When we first got him he would run away from us if we picked up a broom or swept. On rare occasion where he would shit inside the house, he would avoid us as if he were fearful of what we would do. I think in general animals can pick up on our emotions. I think the best thing to do would be to somehow reassure them that you aren't mad at them.

    • I raised it since it was a baby. It just goes to the corner when I scold them. Also my animal is scared of brooms as well. Which I don't understand why since I never abused him. I don't understand why they always do this. I feel bad because sometimes I am just trying to make sure they do not hurt themselves and they act like I am going to hurt them.

  • What kind of animal is it? It's pretty much impossible to tell you whether this is normal if you don't tell us what species it is.
