  • I suppose I have a guilty pleasure for Vlad Dracul Tepes. Not because Bram Stoker based Dracula on him, but because even though he was a sadistic ruler, he near on brought down the Ottoman Empire.

    Entire armies lost their nerve and refused to fight him after seeing the aftermath of the previous army impaled along the river.

    Also to add to the mystery, when he was killed and buried, researchers later on in 1930 exhumed his grave and found only dog bones.

    He still remains a folk hero in Romania to this day.
