I agree with you. Although, in some states, 17 is the legal age of consent. But I know a lot of kids under that age will do anything to get the "cool" status. Although, in high school, I didn't hear too much about teens trying to be with someone who is as old as 40, I did hear a lot of young teen trying to be with some college kid (which is illegal under 17 where I live) just so they can have the "I'm dating someone in college status". I myself, was never attracted to guys my own age. I always found myself attracted to guy four to five years older than myself, but, when I was under 17, I would've never taken the chances on it. I don't think that these youngsters are looking for relationships, though. I think they just want their friends to know that they are with someone who is too old for them, or maybe they are like me, and they don't like anyone their own age, but all in all, it is illegal, and they should stay away from it.
