While I won't claim you're right or wrong on facts (I didn't look into them), the point of the post is moreso about stereotyping. Saying you're American so you must be fat is incorrect and accusational. That's the point the OP found important.
That's exactly what I got out of their question. I think he misinterpreted it and because his comment comes off as very abrasive and ignorant, the OP felt they needed to respond that way which I can understand. He missed the point of the topic which is why they responded as they did.
Anyway, I agree with the OP as I think it's wrong to call Americans obese and make the assumption they're all obese when that's not the case.
They both misunderstood each other. He said there are fat Americans and OP said he shouldn't call all Americans obese. Failure to communicate. lol.
But yes, stereotyping is wrong.
It no longer really matters about the veracity of the claims made in these posts, it's about being attacked unjustly by simpletons who simply can't read and therefor draw conclusions based on their mistaken impressions, not that which was posted.
I couldn't care less if these cretins like me or agree with my posts, but the very least they can do is read what I have posted and not put words in my mouth.
I can understand that. It happened to me the other day with the word rape. lol. You were misinterpreted. You both misinterpreted one another and then battle began.
IIN it annoys me when people say Americans are obese?
