Is it normal? Is this common?

  • Well, I'm black, and I gotta say that, to me, the N-word is the N-word. It has the same history and meaning no matter whose mouth it comes out of. I am aware that a lot of African Americans use it in a term of slang that is not meant to be offensive, but I think if a black person can use it in that form of slang, than people of other races should be allowed to too, and if one finds it offensive that a person of another race is using it as slang, then they shouldn't be using it either. Like I said, the N-word, is the N-word no matter whose mouth it's coming out of. I find people who don't seem to comeprehend that rather ignorant. To me, it is only offensive when a person uses it offensively, but that's just me personally.

Anyways, that's my input on that.

Thank you! I've always thought it was just a word! Any word can be offensive if you make it offensive. I could call you a booger and that could be offensive! I never thought words could only belong to a specific race or group.
