Is it normal in a conversation i go to my daydreaming mode?

sometimes in a group chat I go to this day dreaming mode of mine not voluntarily, it dosnt take too much just couple of seconds but I miss parts of conversaiton, It just happens and some friends actually find it weird its like my brain ignores what some people has to say.

  • I do it too sometimes people even have to like make some noise by hitting something nearby just to get my attention and it's really annoying.

  • This happens to me too. Quite annoying. I can be having a one on one conversation looking at them in the eye and it happens. When I "come back" I have to struggle to catch up on what they were saying without giving it away. Horrible.

  • It could just be a short attention span, boredom or disinterest :) So this may not apply to you at all, but I know that some people who zone out a lot have developed this as a coping mechanism during emotionally stressful or even traumatic events. It's a way of detaching yourself from reality. I know it sounds a bit trite - but try to pay attention and live fully in the moment.
