Sorry to hear of your situation. One thing you might do is go see Salvation Army about a new mattress. I just left a temporary assignment where I purchased a new mattress and covered it properly. When I left after six months, I gave it to salvation army, along with pillows and a new mattress pad. Blankets included. These are very easy to purchase from Salvation Army. Maybe next to no cost. Also, look for a comfortable chair. They have these as well. Good luck friend.
