Is it normal if you can't pee when people can hear you?

Ever since middle school, I have not been able to pee if anyone could hear me. I, however, did find that I could sometimes go if I would plug my ears, so that I couldn't hear people, and pretend like they weren't there. Is this normal?

  • It never bothers me if strangers, either male or female, hear me pee. In fact, I'll aim for the middle of the water to make it as loud as it can be. The same goes for my guy friends. Most of us don't close the door when it's just the guys hanging out. Yet, I'm self-conscious around women that I know, and always pee quietly when they are in the next room.

  • Grow some balls and get over it. Start peeing as loud as possible when others are around to help you get over it

  • Haha I feel like I'm waking up my parents when I pee sometimes cause I'm afraid they can hear me and so I scoot up and try and pee in the front of the toilet to avoid loud splashy noises. Its normal lol
