I've had this happen to me before too. It's like, once the obligation to talk and be nice is over and done with, then phew, no-one has to pretend to care if they don't want to anymore.
Don't worry, it's nothing you've done (I think. Did you? ;P) It's just a load of tired people who aren't putting in the effort to know you. If it's at work, it makes even more sense. It's just business as usual.
Are you saying that when you try to talk to them, they more or less ignore you? Man, it sucks. But I guess if that's how they really are, then it's better to see it how it is than to have fake friendliness being thrown about.
