  • I think so too. As kids and even teenagers it's to easy to be optimistic and feel like we are so very important in the world, but as adults and with maturity the clear message is that none of our lives matter as much as we think it does, and at the end of the day life is just pointless. At least for me, knowing that inevitable truth in the back of my head makes me feel like everything else including jobs, relationships, vacations are all distractions and don't necessarily make people happier compared to before they had or experienced those things. I think the problem with humans is that we are constantly looking for some kind of excitement and gratification only for the purpose of not having to face the fear that maybe life is more boring, dull, and mundane than we think it is.
