They are probably simply trying to keep the peace in the house. You're their friend so they feel they can vent to you.
Also they might not want to be mean to this person if all they are is annoying. Many people are annoying but harmless.
If there is an issue that should be addressed, try to address it. Talk to them openly.
Things like this will fester and often end worse than they should.
