Is it normal if i apologize to inanimate objects?

Like the question says. Every now and then, I'll walk around my house and sometimes bump into my fan, nightstand, or just about most inanimate everyday objects every now and then for example. And when I do, I tend to mumble or whisper 'sorry' at it. I've done this for an approximate year and I've just began questioning as to why I even do it. If I'm being honest, it just makes me look stupid and an actual idiot to even do it.

I usually hit the object again intentionally while cussing it out.
When I was younger and had a worse temper I would kick it into the wall and then hit it again if it bounced back.

I suppose that is just as weird.

I do it knowing it's stupid sometimes. Like while walking home today I talked to some trees. I just kinda have conversations with myself. Talking out loud helps anyways.

The thought of apologizing to an inanimate object makes me want to throw said object in a wood chipper. Sorry, that's just a bit of the old stream of consciousness.

when I get hit by an object I like to hit the object back to assert my dominance over it.

Are you British? If so, totally normal.
