I miss my grandpa dearly. He was my best friend and taught me so much about the old world. I miss his stories and the characters that lit up his stories.
I had a dream a couple of months ago where he was sitting out on a chair in my backyard in the sunlight, with a smile on his face. As I approached him he asked me;
"Will you be happy or sad when I'm gone?"
I replied; "I'll be sad you're gone but I'll be..." and then he chimed in, finishing my sentence with me; "...happy that you lived so long." He chuckled and smiled warmly, saying "I know, I know."
I woke up crying but they were tears of happiness tainted by sadness. But I got so much closure from that and I have been able to move on.
