  • Yet you feel no need to be mindful if them? They have every right to use the road. The way you speak, you are putting lives in danger every time you drive. Pay attention.

    • I AM mindful but in low visibility areas what more can I do? I am alert and aware there may be a cyclist but there's only so much I can do without becoming a danger myself. If I see a cyclist and suddenly slam on my brakes around a blind curve and another car is coming behind me then that's more dangerous as well. They have the right to use the road but they need to stay to the sides and be prepared to move if cars are coming that can't slow or stop in time. A car going far slower than the speed limit is still going much faster than a cyclist and it's unreasonable to expect that the car can or will slow down in time and it's also completely stupid for the car to swerve into another car to potentially avoid the cyclist as there's much more risk of life in that scenario.

      • In my experience, if the cyclist isn't using the side of the road, there is a reason for it. Loose gravel and potholes are dangerous for the cyclist.

I feel your pain, I really do. But they too deserve some considetation. Putting everyone in a car won't solve the problem. And creating common sense laws only tempts more division on the issue.
