I'm from the US and have never heard of them. I wish we had them here though, because I have a habit of reading the backs of everything from DVDs to cans of hairspray.

-You are more likely to be killed by a champagne cork than by a spider
-The total length of all eyelashes shed by a human in their lifetime is over thirty metres
-0.3% of all road accidents in Canada involve a moose.
-On average, a four-year-old child asks 437 questions a day.
-There are one million ants to every human in the world.
-Flamingos are pink because they eat shrimp.
-23% of all photocopier faults are caused by people sitting on them and photocopying their buttocks
-Fish can get seasick
There are hundreds of fun facts. They are called odd spots! :)
