I love cartoons because the characters are a lot more unique than the ones you find in most live-action series, in terms of both design and personality.
I just wish that they'd make cartoons that kept that type of uniqueness but that tackled more mature issues and had an ongoing plot and character development (think stuff like Game of Thrones or Doctor Who, but animated).
But sadly I don't know if animation will ever be taken seriously as a medium to tell mature stories; either the cartoons' creators have great ideas but have to dumb them down for kids in order to sell them to TV networks, or if someone wants to make an animated show for adults, then there's this unspoken rule that it has to be as ridiculous, raunchy and offensive as possible. Animation fans like me just can't catch a break.
