Nope. This doesn't seem like clear thinking to me. His sense of underwear appropriateness must be put at a higher priority than his good looks. If you take action on good looks, you will always get yourself into trouble. But, most women accept lots of trouble because the good looks are so irresistible.
Yes, most people are always in trouble because of it too. Either you accept the trouble, or you put your heart on the back burner and follow your brain. Not everybody is able to do this. Scientists, engineers, and mathematicians find it easy.
I'm am not an especially technically minded person, but at my age I feel like it's slim pickens, because if someone is single, and especially if that person has never been married it's a bad sign by the late forties. It's true, looks are very important to me, and I'm not ashamed of that fact.
Anyway, like I've been saying. It's not the most important thing in the world to be coupled. I'm also pretty set in my ways so yeah, I like being alone at least now.
That's good that you are happy alone. In a few years, there will be more widowers for you to enjoy. And the good news is that widows and widowers have zero baggage. Nothing. Nada. Pfffft. Gone.
It's not morbid at all. It's the cleanest break you can ever have with a partner. Let's do a thought experiment. El Stupido dies. A couple of months later you visit his grave at the cemetery. There is in plain sight. The grave marker says "Long Tall Texan". It is totally over. Not only for you but for the world, for his family, for everybody. All the problems are buried six feet in the ground never to surface again. You feel a sense of freedom you have never felt before. Closure has never been this complete.
You turn to go to your car. The sun is brighter, and the wind whispers that the world in new once again.
Is it normal I want to wear my girlfriend's panties?

Well, everyone loves good looks. It's natural thing. Even babies like to look at good looking people.
