Is it possible you know he's a pretty shitty dude, but you can't bring yourself to break up, and you don't want to hear confirmation of what you know in your heart to be true? It's not unusual for women be attracted to "bad boys" for all sorts of twisted psychological reasons, and then to conceal them from their friends and family. Sometimes it's because they've been manipulated into that by the guys, who know damn well that anyone not under their spell can see that they're asshats and not good for the woman.
Or is it possible your parents are highly judgemental, never endorse any decisions you make, and still think of you as a child?
Or could it be that you're embarrassed by your parents, and think that the guy meeting them will result in him thinking less of you?
