Is it normal i want to elope and live on my own with nature

I get sick of life sometimes, it's so mundane, the whole idea of the rat race when really we all end up at the bottom with death. I want to run away and live with nature it's so beautiful maybe join a pack of bears or wolves even though they would probably eat me, but the comfort of that seems so calming.

Why live in a polluted built up place with people who worship materialistic crap than the beauty that's all around them.

Is It Normal?

  • Do you know what the word 'elope' means?

    • To elope, most literally, merely means to run away and to not come back to the point of origination. <<<<<<<<<<<

More specifically, elopement is often used to refer to a marriage conducted in sudden and secretive fashion, usually involving hurried flight away from one's place of residence together with one's beloved with the intention of getting married.

So yeah more specifically it means to run away and be married, but as you can see by the first definition, I don't mean that.

      Make my point?

  • I share a similar dream. I want to live completely off the land, only with other people who value and respect nature like I do. Like the early Native Americans.

  • You should watch that film "Into The Wild".

    • I have!

Watched it about 3 months ago, sad film, shows the reality of it, great film though.

  • I see nothing wrong with it, however, do some studying before just giving up everything to live in nature. It sounds great and I wouldn't mind living a careless life, but how will you survive? You just really need to evaluate things before taking off!

  • I would find all you can on wilderness survival and outdoors man skills you can. also, id get How-to build and use alternative energy if you want/need electricity, but its not nessecary. Then buy a heavily wooded property (Better if you already have it) and build a cabin near a pond or river. If you know what you're doing, and have the right tools, you could easily live forever, and you would come out on top if the worlds technology suddenly blacks out forever.

Henry David Thoreau did it for 4 years, so It is very possible to do so. Have fun!

I dunno about joining a wolf pack though, youd probably get killed.

  • I agree with you.
Hopefully you're still young, PLEASE try to get involved in some research or something that allows you to be in the wilderness and get paid too :)

I want to live in the forest, even a rain forest. I hate the city.
Presently I live in the country, and before that near the beach. Its STILL not enough. I hate having neighbors, I want to live in a tree house! (oh possibly somewhere tropical, so I'm warm)

    • Awww yes I'm still young, 18 :)
I live near the beach and I swear if it wasn't for that I'd go mad, the country sounds nice away from the noise of everything :)

      • I like living out in the country, but im starting to fear it wont be that way much longer. There is a subdivision not three miles from where I am, and the farthest property line for it is next to mine. The worst was when some of the people living there tried to complain about my neighbors garage/car collection, which has been there since 1976.
